odds

I'm living with loving people who are at odds with one another and it is a little sad and stressful. It's difficult to support them both as they judge each other and wonder how it is I can still love the person who they are currently experiencing such difficulty with. It's more difficult because they are both very, very dear to me but, ultimately, I believe these difficulties will be resolved and everyone will find their way back to love.

That happens sometimes, right?

comments

glitches

No more major memory glitches since Saturday. That was the first time I've really felt like I was losing my mind. Let's hope it's the last.

I've had memory issues going back 14 years or so. There have been some weird times where I've been pretty seriously confused by the ins and outs of my memory, getting thing mixed up for sometimes hours at a time. I once insisted for over an hour that my youngest had just turned one when he had just turned two. That was super weird but I managed to brush it off. Other incidents have been similar. I know we all grope for words from time to time but I had been noticing it seemed to be getting a little worse for me over the past ... months? year? But Saturday scared me. I'm worried now.

Something is wrong.

comments

memory

That hellish moment when years of poor memory suddenly blossom into not being able to remember an obvious name from a long held fandom, that just happened to me. Eating breakfast, chatting with my husband and suddenly groping in an absolute void for this name and coming up 100% empty. My husband said the name and it didn't sound right, didn't fit, and slowly it did fit, and my panic receded but tears still clung to my lashes as I tried to continue with our erstwhile happy conversation. I don't dare name the look in my husband's eyes.

On Thursday I started a painting.

comments
